Shall we post the images now that everyone is dying to see how it all turned out??? In advance, YES we love the little blingy votive piece on the table, sorry we used so many, but we loved them all!

The Four Seasons Hotel certainly did not disappoint as the service all around from the wait staff to the presentation of everything they did was just impeccable!

Those in attendance to name a few Laurence Geller, Jonathan Tisch, The Honorable Gordon Smith, Chris Matthews, The Honorable Evan Bayh, The Honorable Susan Collins, The Honorable Judith McHale, The Honorable Mitt Romney, Celia Sandys and of course Mr. J.W. “Bill” Marriott himself.

The menu (abbreviated of course) consisted of:
Chilled Maine Lobster Salad
Miso-Glazed Chilean Seabass
Mascallan 18 Butterscotch Pot de Creme

It was our pleasure to have been asked to photograph the event. Mr. Marriott is one of the most down to earth individuals that one will ever meet. Modest at best, any of us in the industry who have spent any amount of time at the Marriott hotels know that his employees are representative of who he is as a person.

Congratulations to Mr. J.W. “Bill” Marriott as he was presented with the Leadership Award.

As three girlfriends signed up together we had an awesome time traipsing around town capturing shot after shot of the craziness throughout the whole day. Starting from the early morning with Remona and her girls on the hair and make-up, Bill and Cara with Suburban Video who stayed with us all day up until 11pm until all their coverage was complete and the entire RP Team endlessly shooting till they dropped. LINDA MERRITT!!!! How could we ever forget her as she is always there when we need her with her wonderful bouquets! Thank you, Linda!

Thanks to all the girls for being such good sports and doing whatever was asked of them even if it meant endangering their own lives standing next to and chasing after moving and rumbling trains! It was a blast, everyone who participated had so much fun!

Sean is quickly becoming known as he used to work for Preston Bailey prior to starting up his company called “The Business of Being Creative“, Sean is known for believing that:

“Everyone should be creative. Whatever your art is, it should invigorate you and bring you joy. And if it happens to be your business, it should bring you the money you need to keep being creative.”

Traveling as a guest speaker he is spreading his knowledge of success in “The Business of Being Creative”. It was great to hear him speak as he had some wonderful and valid points that anyone in business who is seen as having a talent or an art that they create and sell really needs to remember. It is quite easy for those looking in from the outside to see what artistic individuals do and forget the value in producing unique work. He told a short story that had been told to him before that really hit home and is really something that everyone should remember:

A man walked up to Picasso on a beach one day and asked Picasso if he could sketch a picture of him, so Picasso said sure and after two minutes he handed the sketch back to the man and the man said to Picasso, “How much?”, Picasso thought for minute and replied, “$15.000.00″ and the man responded by saying, “But it only took you two minutes.” Picasso replied, “You’re wrong it took me 50 years.”

That in itself was priceless as what we all do as artists is about way more than providing the product but what went into getting there to that point of perfection and flawlessness which makes it so valuable. Don’t ever discount what your talent is worth, because those who can appreciate it will never question it. And those that can’t appreciate it unfortunately just won’t ever get it, so you move on and enjoy and cherish those who do.

We were excited when hired for the job, it was awesome to watch it all unfold and work with such a wonderful team that is behind each and every one of her editorial shoots. We were able to put faces to the names we often read within the publication!

Not only did we have the pleasure of providing the board members with new head shots, I have been officially sworn in as the “Director of Newsletter” … wish me luck! I hope that I can bring great things to the organization and look forward to being able to get to meet everyone and being part of such a wonderful group of people dedicated to making our community the best that it can be!
